8 month old? crying!! over every little thing!! help?

So my 8 month old is going threw this stage where every time i am out of sight he cries! every time i take something away he should have he cries! i do not let him grab my lap top and he cries? do i let him cry? he has plenty of toys but he just dose not enjoy them?? help i am so frustrated..he is teething he has been since 3 months but no one is able to hold him except his dad with out him crying? and his dad wont really hold him that long?? i feel like i am going to loose it!!!
