Does he like me or does he just wanna hookup?

my guy friend named tim is always very quiet around me. he seems to have trouble putting words together when he talks to me. when we've sat together, he always ends up putting his arm around me and holding me closer and he always tries to kiss me. but i don't know if he really likes me? usually, if we're hanging out with a group, he'll go off somewhere else where we aren't and announce that he's going over there and look at me like he wants me to follow. he always laughs at my jokes even if they aren't funny and he's held my hand a few times. the other day, when we were saying goodbye, he kissed me on the cheek. just last night he asked me if i like him and i don't know if i do. but the point is, does he like me? he always wants to hangout, too.
